Our Story

Where it all began

Chris Adams – Owner. Chris is a 4th generation farmer, but Brightview Farms is a 1st generation farm – which means Chris grew from one small 500 acre sheep farm to a large-scale dairy and beef operation with over 3,600 acres and 3,000+ cattle.

In 2017 Chris along with his long-time friend Jerry purchased Fiordland Jet Limited, When Fiordland Jet started, Chris planned on being a silent partner, but for anyone that’s met him, you know just how ridiculous of an idea it is for him to be ‘silent’. Chris loves getting to meet so many new people and always enjoys a chat to learn about the people he meets and the places they come from.

Naturally Woodstone Farm was created, Chris’s love of farming and Tourism combined. Woodstone Farm’s dual purpose is to operate as an agri-tourism business and support farm for the Brightview Farm,

We recommend adding a farm tour to the first day of your stay – to be greeted by Chris as you arrive and then spending time out on the farm learning about this quintessential Southland Kiwi way of life. Please expect a big personality with lots of opinions, a bit of banter and a few laughs.
